“We chose to send our son to Sara Marie because he has a late birthday, and we had some concerns about how quickly he was picking up certain concepts in Pre-K. Although he was evaluated and did not qualify for any services, we wanted to give him an extra year to grow and gain confidence. While our home district, Burnt Hills, offers full-day kindergarten, we felt that Sara Marie would provide the nurturing environment he needed before taking that step. This also gives us the option to enroll him in kindergarten at Burnt Hills next year if we feel it’s still the right fit.
I have to say, our experience at Sara Marie has been absolutely wonderful. Our son is incredibly lovable, and this school has been the perfect match for his personality and needs. We’ve watched him blossom in ways we never expected, and we deeply appreciate the school’s focus on educating the whole child. He comes home every day excited to share what he has learned. Recently his class talked about perseverance, and now we hear him proudly say things like “I didn’t give up” or “I kept trying!” whenever he tackles something challenging.
We are truly thrilled with our decision to send him to Sara Marie and only wish he could continue here for years to come”.
“The Sara Marie School was truly a “home away from home” for our daughter. She transferred there mid-year in pre-k and continued for full-day kindergarten. Since day one, she was welcomed with open arms by the teachers and staff. But what stands out the most was how the other children welcomed her with kindness and patience as she settled in as “the new kid”, and that speaks volumes about the culture and atmosphere of the school. The small class sizes allowed for her teachers to recognize her strengths and weaknesses, and offer an individualized approach to learning. They gave her opportunities to be brave and try new things in a very safe and comfortable setting.
We initially enrolled her in the program because there weren’t many options for full-day K at the time, but if we had to make a choice again, we would choose TSMS again in a heartbeat!”

“We have been at the Sara Marie for the past 3 years and it’s been amazing to see our child’s growth over the years. They really do make you feel like family. We love that all of the staff know not only our child attending, but the rest of our family as well. The small student to teacher ratio has been absolutely amazing and we cannot stress enough that our child is doing as well in kindergarten as he is because of this. He is a shy little boy who had some fine motor delays and qualified for CPSE services last year. The school was amazing at helping us along and supporting us through the whole journey. Here we are in kindergarten and he is doing absolutely fantastic. We love Sara Marie!
